Vietnam Show - Update

So just checking on thelastvestige.blogspot.com about the show and it seems a boat has been secured and things are on the go. Hopefully my works will be printed onto plastic table-cloths or plastic plates!!! Grrreat! I'm thinking i'll make four more pieces? I'm thinking of working this way more though, doing some more high res images for lightboxes, perpex printing on neon perspex etc. Could be really nice, and I actually LOVE working this way.

Vietnam Show - The last Vestige. 1.

I've been invited to exhibit in a show in Vietnam in August this year. Its called The Last Vestige, and will occur on a junk boat which will float down the mekong. The curator is Thea Baumann, and new nedia artist and curator who is doing an Asialink Residency at A Little Blah Blah which is an artist run space, and for this resedency she's curating this show.

Baumann has asked me to put together some images or 2D work that could be displayed throughout the boat's interior. After coming up with a few different options, one which involved collaborating with a friend, and after discussing various problems with posting sculptural objects into vietnam etc she is most set on the work being: collage-ish photographic works which combine my lab process/finished cell culture works/finished no lab works. I'm really liking making this work, it's totally different to what I normally do and I'm totally getting into it.

So these are the images I have for this show so far: I think all up I'd like to have about ten really nice images. Theah is looking into getting the images printed onto plastic cup + plate/souvenier etc like proaganda images of mao/ho chi min etc etc, which would be fantastic. If this avenue doesnt work out though, i think they'll be printed and displayed within the boat's interior. I think next to the kitchen or bathroom would be great.

I'm looking at them as works in progress at the moment, but I think some of them are almost finished.
